Myfanwy Jones – author of the 2016 Miles Franklin Literary Award finalist title, Leap – has sold her new literary fiction title to Vanessa Radnidge at Hachette, in a World Rights deal negotiated by Jacinta di Mase.

Cool Water explores themes of family secrets, intergenerational violence and trauma, redemption, colonisation, consumption, and colonialism, and the myth of progress and the destruction of natural landscapes and waterways. Big ideas are canvassed subtly and expertly in this story of a family over three generations.”

Vanessa Radnidge says; Myfanwy is a breathtakingly brilliant writer and the novel is so beautifully written and powerfully told.

Bestselling Australian author Holly Ringland (The Seven Skins of Esther Wilding) had this to say about Myfanwy’s latest work; Why this novel? Because the ties of toxic masculinity can be broken. Why now? Because we need empathy, understanding, some magic, and hope more than ever in our lifetimes.’

Cool Water is scheduled for 2024 release.
