Penguin Random House (PRH) Australia has acquired two YA romance books from emerging Perth-based author, Aurelne Thian. The deal was brokered by agent Danielle Binks.

The first novel titled Dear Campus Cupid is a love letter full of yearning, about self-discovery and second chances. It blends the romance of Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before with all the misunderstandings and miscommunications of a modern-day Pride and Prejudice.

Aurelne Thian says: ‘I’ve kept so many words folded away in the quiet corners of my heart for most of my life—and yet, right now, I can’t seem to find any that fully capture what I’m feeling. I’m so unbelievably grateful to Danielle and the Jacinta di Mase Agency for championing Dear Campus Cupid, and to Lisa at Penguin Random House for seeing the heart of this story—the love letters, the longing, the quiet hopes—and saying yes. Thank you for believing in this book and helping me send it out into the world. And, to my Mama dearest, thank you for bearing with me to talk about this moment unfailingly every single day for years and years now (ask her, she’d laugh). I’m still pinching myself.’

Lisa Riley, Publisher at PRH says: ‘Dear Campus Cupid is the love letter you long to read, with all the intense yearning of a K-drama and characters to fall in love with. Readers who love Jenny Han and the sweet romance of Ann Liang’s books will adore this new series from Aurelne.’

Danielle Binks at Jacinta di Mase Management adds: ‘I met Aurelne at the inaugural Festival of Fiction in Joondalup and it has felt fated and fortuitous ever since. She is an absolute treasure of a writer, and I can’t wait for people to kick-their-feet as they read her, just as I did! Aurelne and Penguin will be a formidable team.’

Dear Campus Cupid is slated for release in 2026.
