Called brilliant by Megan Davis and a masterpiece by Thomas Mayo, Näku Dhäruk is the masterful, groundbreaking history of a founding document in Australian democracy and the trailblazers who made it.
Alongside three other finalists, Näku Dhäruk is said to feature a story of determination, resilience, culture, and identity and to provide a new narrative to defining moments in NT history.
The judges said of all the finalists; ‘The selected books bravely explore themes of truth-telling, resistance, cultural survival, and the fight for justice and recognition in Australia’s history, particularly through the experiences, voices, and knowledge of First Nations peoples.’
Congratulations, Clare!
