Rights for Clare Wright’s Eureka book purchased

Text Publishing has purchased the rights for Clare Wright’s, Eureka: Sex, Power and the Pursuit of Freedom on the Victorian Frontier.
Wright’s work does what no Eureka book has attempted before: to re-write the familiar narrative of the Eureka Stockade from the ground up, based entirely on primary sources, including the stories, perspectives and actions of the more than 5000 women who were present in Ballarat in 1854. This is not an “add women and stir” type of history. It recognizes and acknowledges that women were an integral part of the historical landscape and changes the very meaning and significance of Eureka history. Eureka: Sex, Power and the Pursuit of Freedom on the Victorian Frontier is an iconic Australian foundation story as you’ve never heard it told. It is revisionist history at its edgy, most authentic best.
