The Australian Society of Authors (ASA) is thrilled to announce the results of the Children’s Picture Book Illustrators’ Initiative 2013. Funded by the Australia Council for the Arts, this Initiative provides grants to support the development of new children’s picture books, including graphic novels and comics.

The Developing Illustrator’s grant of $10,000 was awarded to Karen Blair!

Karen was shortlisted in the Developing category alongside the following artists:

Sara Acton – Poppy Cat
Karen Blair – Hello From Nowhere (text by Raewyn Caisley)
Sebastian Ciaffaglione – Crossing Guards (graphic novel)
Kylie Dunstan – Puddles are for Jumping
Charlotte Lance – I have a dog. An inconvenient dog.
