Marion Taffe worked as a press journalist and editor in Australia and the UK for 20-years before leaving newspapers to start a family in Melbourne and to dance creatively with words and stories.

Her debut novel Freida will be published under the Fourth Estate imprint by HarperCollins in early 2024. It is set in England during the Viking Age, and as Marion’s work often does; it draws on themes of women’s rage, agency and unbelonging.

Marion was awarded a Varuna Residential Fellowship for 2023.
