Rachel Ang is a 2025 Ignatz Award Nominee!

Posted

Rachel Ang’s debut graphic novel I Ate the Whole World to Find You (Drawn & Quarterly) has been recognised in the North American Ignatz Awards, nominated in the Outstanding Collection category!

The Ignatz Award, named for the character in the classic comic strip Krazy Kat by George Herriman, is the festival prize of the Small Press Expo (SPX). Since 1997, the Ignatz Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in comics and cartooning. The Ignatz recognizes exceptional work that challenges popular notions of what comics can achieve, both as an art form and as a means of personal expression.

The Outstanding Collection award category that Rachel is nominee in, recognises a book of selected short comics from various prior publications by the same cartoonist. I Ate the Whole World to Find You is Rachel’s radiant debut collection that introduces a dynamic voice to comics, and establishes Ang as one of the most exciting short-story writers working in comics today, and we are glad the Ignatz agrees!

Rachel’s book is available and published in Australia/New Zealand by Scribe Publications.

Online voting will close 8pm (ET) September 12, with the winners announced at a ceremony taking place September 13 during SPX weekend.

Congratulations to Rachel, and the entire Drawn & Quarterly team!
